Listening Techniques 1 — Integrative Evaluation
Refined palpation to identify dysfunction before treatment begins.
Learn the specialized palpation techniques developed by Jean-Pierre Barral to let the body tell you what needs to be treated — and where.
LT1 teaches you the art of listening with your hands. Built on a foundation of VM1, this course develops the specialized palpation Barral uses to locate the root cause of dysfunction before applying any treatment. You will learn to use your hands as instruments of interpretation: reading imbalances, identifying the structures involved, selecting the optimal treatment approach, monitoring how body systems respond in real time, and applying the correct amount of force for each region and each patient. Listening transforms your practice — it prevents wasted sessions on secondary symptoms and takes you directly to the primary restriction.
What you will learn
- Use specialized palpation to guide you toward the correct treatment site
- Interpret bodily signals to recognize imbalance and dysfunction
- Monitor real-time system response during manual intervention
- Integrate listening skills into every stage of evaluation and treatment
