New Manual Articular Approach
Treat joints as interconnected systems of nerves, vessels, ligaments and viscera.
The New Manual Articular Approach (MAUE, MALE, MASP, MAAAJ) treats joints not as isolated mechanical hinges but as interconnected systems of nerves, vessels, ligaments and adjacent viscera. Four modules cover the upper extremity, the lower extremity, the spine and pelvis, and advanced joint integration. It complements the visceral and neural work of the method with a structured articular language that respects the anatomical neighbourhood of each joint rather than abstracting it from its context.
Modules in this track
New Manual Articular Approach — Upper Extremity
A radical re-thinking of joint treatment — nerves, arteries, meniscus, ligaments, capsule, emotions and visceral connections, all at once.
New Manual Articular Approach — Lower Extremity
The lower-body counterpart to MAUE — complex, multi-system joint evaluation and treatment for the hip, knee, ankle and foot.
New Manual Articular Approach — Spine & Pelvis
Bring the multi-system articular model into the spine — vertebral joints, sacroiliac joints and the pelvic ring as one functional unit.
New Manual Articular Approach — Advanced Joints
The advanced course in the articular series — complex cases, treatment-resistant joints and integration with the whole Barral program.
Who this track is for
- Manual therapists and physiotherapists with a musculoskeletal focus
- Practitioners seeking articular techniques integrated with visceral and neural context
- Clinicians treating complex chronic joint presentations with multisystem contributors
- Osteopaths refining their articular work within the Barral framework
Prerequisites and progression
MAUE, MALE and MASP can be taken in any order after VM1. MAAAJ is the advanced integration module and assumes prior MAUE, MALE and MASP exposure, plus solid visceral palpation.
