Pediatric Applications
Adapted protocols for newborns, infants and children — gentle, precise, developmentally aware.
Pediatric Applications (VAP) adapts the Barral Method to infants and young children. The module teaches specific low-force techniques for post-birth tension patterns, infant feeding and digestion, positional preferences and post-surgical or post-illness follow-up in paediatric populations. Scope is clear and explicit: this is adjunctive care, applied in coordination with the child's paediatrician, and never a substitute for paediatric medical assessment.
Who this track is for
- Practitioners with paediatric clinical experience (osteopaths, paediatric physiotherapists)
- Clinicians working with infant colic, reflux, feeding difficulties and positional preferences
- Manual therapists in multidisciplinary paediatric settings
- Practitioners with VM1 and VM2 who want to extend work to paediatric populations
Prerequisites and progression
Prerequisites: VM1 and VM2 minimum. Prior paediatric clinical background is strongly recommended — the module builds on paediatric experience rather than creating it. Coordination with paediatric medical care is part of the taught scope.
