Visceral Manipulation 3 — The Pelvis

Functional and structural mechanics of the pelvis and its organ systems.

Master the evaluation and treatment of pelvic organs and learn to differentiate somatic from visceral causes of lower back and pelvic dysfunction.

VM3 examines the intricate relationship between functional and structural mechanics of the pelvis. You will master Jean-Pierre Barral’s evaluation and treatment approach for pelvic organ systems, including their integration with the region’s complex ligamentous network. The course teaches you to distinguish somatic from visceral sources of pelvic and lower back dysfunction — a critical skill for treating chronic lumbar pain, urogynecological conditions and postural imbalances. You will incorporate functional motion patterns of the pelvic organs into treatment and apply both direct and indirect techniques while connecting pelvic mechanics to whole-body patterns through Lines of Tension principles.

What you will learn

  • Evaluate and treat pelvic organ systems within their ligamentous network
  • Distinguish somatic vs. visceral sources of pelvic and lumbar dysfunction
  • Incorporate pelvic organ motion into treatment planning
  • Apply direct and indirect techniques based on Lines of Tension principles
